The Danish Judging System

The Danish system of judging is somewhat different from international standard. After placing the animals according to their ability to live up to our breeding standard we put a"point" on each animal according to a scale, which in practice goes from 19 to 24. This point-system has an origin and a tradition way back - so still we keep it.
The advantage is that we can give same point to several animals in the same lot if they are of the same quality, the disadvantage is that we can not afterwards see, which number in the lot an animal was placed.
The point system works in the following way:
24 points to an animal which to 100% is up to the defined breed standard,
23 points to the animal with 1 or 2 minor deviations from breed standard,
22 points to the animal with 1 major and some minor deviation from breed standard,
21 points to the animal with 2 or more major deviations from breed standard,
20 points to the animal, which besides major faults is expressed disharmoneous,
19 points to the animal which should really have stayed at home.... the judge needs to comment
straight on such animals.
